How do i return my recalled crib

I don't know if you ladies seen this post I had yesterday I found out a few weeks after my son was born that the crib that we bought from a friend of mine had been recalled back in April of I contacted Target and told them what my situation was. They said unfortunately since I didn't have proof of the crib purchase and that there was nothing they can do about it.
