Matt Bellamy describes the song's inspiration: "You've had a fight with your girlfriend and she goes off to her mum's house for the day and you're on your own going: 'What did I say? The 2nd Law was originally scheduled to be released on September 17 in the UK and a day later in the US, but will now be available on October 1.
