Why did strickland loss
A third-round submission win in his first fight in nearly two years following several injuries earned Breese the call to the Octagon, and a trio of strong performances have garnered the now talent a ton of hype, setting the stage for this pivotal showdown with Strickland on Saturday.
Strickland keeps winning after losing lesson. Losing to Santiago Ponzinibbio was the best thing that happened to Sean Strickland. Initially, Strickland was told by his doctors that recovery was the only thing to focus on because fighting should probably be the furthest thing from his mind.
Came across this the other day Despite essentially being forced to walk on one leg, Strickland refused to give up so he made the best out of a really bad situation. I put a straight leg brace on to lock it out and I was boxing 12 weeks after my injury. That might sound like a miraculous turn of events but boxing on one leg was a far cry from actually fighting again.
It just throbs. Rather than pity himself for all that went wrong, the year-old middleweight started thinking about other fighters who faced real physical adversity yet found a way to overcome it.
I was on a motorcycle. I made my bed and it sucks but you only live once. I got a leg that works. Not the best but it works. Slowly but surely Strickland started getting a better range of motion in his surgically repaired leg and training got a little easier. He never imagined it would take him two years to fight again, but at the month mark, Strickland started to really believe that all the hard work was paying off.
Hall's win over Weidman came due to injury, as Weidman broke his leg when he went for a kick in the opening seconds. Both Strickland and Hall are trying to position themselves for a title shot against UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who is in his career. Strickland is currently ranked 11th at middleweight, while Hall is eighth. While the winner of the fight may still have some work to do, they will likely take a big step toward putting themselves in the title conversation.
